Nobody reads the "About Me" section. You only kept scrolling because of the dolphin fact. Since you've made it this far, you might as well read the rest.
I'm Luana Millecamps, a marine biologist and artist with Belgian and Portuguese roots. Born in 1999, I've always had two passions growing side by side: art and the ocean.
Point of Sea is where those two worlds come together.
My journey has taken me across South Africa, Greece, Ireland and Iceland, studying and working with marine life before eventually finding home in Sagres, Algarve, Portugal.
Today, I spend most of my days in or around the sea, observing, learning and finding inspiration beneath the surface.
FIFTY THOUSAND DOTS LATER
One dot doesn't look like much. Neither do a hundred. Imagine more than 50,000.
But before I even pick up my technical pen, every illustration begins with research.
I study scientific references and photographs of each species, learning its anatomy, textures and the tiny details that make it unique.
Then, with a lot of patience, I begin placing one dot after another.
Around 12 hours later, a blank sheet of paper slowly transforms into the ocean as I see it.
